Belturbet Men Shed & The Food and Mood programme

The Belturbet Men's Shed recently had the wonderful opportunity to participate in The Food and Mood programme, which was generously funded by Healthy Cavan. This initiative aimed to promote well-being through the exploration of nutritional choices and their impact on mental health.

Over the course of three engaging weeks, the participants immersed themselves in a variety of activities designed to enhance their understanding of food's role in emotional well-being. Throughout the programme, members took part in informative workshops that covered topics such as meal planning, cooking demonstrations, and discussions about the benefits of different food groups.

These sessions not only provided valuable knowledge but also fostered a sense of community, as participants shared their own experiences and recipes, creating a supportive environment. The feedback from the members was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing how much they enjoyed the camaraderie and the opportunity to learn new skills.

The programme not only focused on the nutritional aspect but also emphasized the importance of social connections and mental health, highlighting how sharing meals and cooking together can strengthen bonds and enhance overall mood. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the participants who contributed their time and enthusiasm to make this programme a success.

Their engagement and willingness to learn played a crucial role in the positive atmosphere that was cultivated throughout the three weeks. The Belturbet Men's Shed looks forward to future initiatives that continue to promote health, well-being, and community spirit.
