Local Community Group/Social Enterprise Grants

Target groups and thematic areas: In line with the ethos of the SICAP Programme, applications for funding for projects that target the relevant groups or issues in disadvantaged areas which comply with the strategic thematic areas outlined in the SICAP Programme 2024 – 2028 under Goal 1 can only be considered. Terms and Conditions

 

  • The project must benefit the residents in a disadvantaged area or a target group under the SICAP Programme.

  • The information supplied by the applicant group /organisation must be accurate and complete.

  • Misinformation may lead to disqualification and/or the repayment of any grant made.

  • All information provided in respect of the application for a grant will be held electronically. CCLD reserves the right to publish a list of all grants awarded on its website.

  • The Freedom of Information Act applies to all records held by the Department, Cavan Local Authority, Cavan LCDC and CCLD.

  • The application must be signed by the Chairperson, Secretary or Treasurer of the organisation making the submission.

  • It is the responsibility of each applicant to ensure that it has proper procedures and policies in place including appropriate insurance where relevant.

  • Applications must be on the relevant form.

  • Evidence of expenditure, receipts /invoices must be retained and provided to CCLD or their representative if requested.

  • A project evaluation report must be submitted to CCLD on completion of the project or spend.

  • CCLD, Cavan LCDC and the Department’s contribution must be publicly acknowledged in all materials associated with the purpose of the grant.

  • The minimum grant available is €150 up to a maximum of €1,500.

  • Generally, no third party or intermediary applications will be considered.

  • Breaches of the terms and conditions of the grants programme may result in sanctions including disbarment from future grant applications.

The Brendan Reilly Lifelong Learning, Training & Education Grant​

Grants for Individuals

 

Grants can be given for individual beneficiaries under Goal 2 of the SICAP Programme for lifelong learning courses. The following rules apply:

  • The maximum grant for an individual is €500 per annum; 

  • One grant per individual per year;

  • The training must be linked to the individual’s needs as identified in the Personal Action Plan and with an action to be completed with a SICAP Development Officer;

  • The grant can be used to cover registration, course and exam fees;

  • Where appropriate competitive quotes must be obtained if multiple providers are available

  • The grant must be in the form of either a direct payment to an education or training supplier on foot of supporting documentation i.e. a valid invoice, or a re-imbursement to the individual who has already incurred the cost of the training course; 

  • Where payments are made to the individuals themselves this must be accompanied by appropriate supporting documentation i.e. receipt from the course provider detailing the costs incurred by the individual; 

  • The client must be from one of the target groups outlined below:
